Robot vacuums and mop are getting more powerful. They pass our tests on cleaning and are able to handle different floors. Look for models that let you choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging dock to self-empty and clean the stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save maps, set schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar for navigation and creates maps of rooms and floors.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum flooring in the dining area, kitchen and bathrooms and also a carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving close to walls and even over raised thresholds without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a fantastic job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it was near carpet or carpet.
After every mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary dependent on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working efficiently. In order to do this, you'll have to clean the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. Its mopping capability is remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor, as opposed to just dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned and dried at the base station, as required.
This robot combo is easy to install and use, with a clear interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that can easily pick up dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are quite good, though it could get stuck on small mats and rugs at my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). The mopping capabilities are quite excellent, too, with a pair of spinning mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model is packed with impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance making it a top contender for our best robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush will give you a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned the dirtiest areas well, eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other dirt. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that extend along baseboards.

The Q5 remains one of the most powerful mopping and vacuums we've seen at this price, even though it's not equipped to clean your floors. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an auto-empty system, so you don't have to manually empty the bin every time. It also features a smart app that lets you select your floor type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
The mops also stand out with their 2700Pa capacity to take on pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is among the few robots we test that didn't have trouble with high-pile carpets and area rugs, but it couldn't remove cat litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the most quiet robovacs that we've tested. It also has a unique method to map your home, which will allow it to enter corners and tight spaces that other vacuums are unable to reach. This device also is able to collect more dust in a larger bin, so you don't have to empty it as often.
